Collin County Slammed Again With Another Hail Storm (Video)
Collin County and the Dallas – Fort Worth area can’t seem to catch a break from these hail storms as yet ANOTHER swept through the area Friday night.
Reports from local news outlets and witnesses state that hail in Plano, McKinney, and Richardson reached up to 2.75 inches in diameter, about the size of a baseball. Locals spent Saturday morning cleaning up the debris from broken car and home windows among other various property damage.
Here are a few witness accounts, including Dallas Cowboys star Cole Beasley, that were posted on Twitter Friday night:

The Dallas – Fort Worth area is well on its way of matching last Spring’s historic hail storms that caused north of $1 billion in property damage.
My home has suffered from damage from the April 24th Hail Storm. What should I do now?
- File your claim with your insurance carrier.
- This is obviously the most important step. Your carrier needs to immediately know that your house has sustained damage from this hail storm. The sooner this is done, the better it is for everyone involved; ultimately it ensures that the damages are legitimate and there is no ambiguity as to what caused your property damage.
- Gather all of your insurance documents.
- If you need a copy of your policy, you may ask for one by your carrier free of charge.
- Take pictures.
- Again, to ensure there is no ambiguity as to what caused your property damage, it’s always a good practice to take your own photos of the damages to your home.
- Keep records and receipts of any temporary repairs you plan to make.
- This is an EXTREMELY important step. Clean up work, temporary repairs, tarps on roofs, debris removal, pool cleaning, etc…. anything you did or purchased, may be used against your deductible or may be reimbursable. Keep a diary with dates, times and notes of all your conversations with your adjuster.
- Call Moore Law Firm.
- Unfortunately, insurance carriers have a pattern of underpaying and outright denying legitimate hail damage claims. Hiring an experienced hail litigation law firm helps ensure that your claim is treated fairly. At Moore Law Firm, we have navigated the claim process for literally thousands of different clients over the past 25 years. We will use every possible resource to potentially resolve your claim to make the appropriate repairs on your home.
